Poland-Belarus-Ukraine Cross-border Cooperation Programme switches to bilateral mode: Belarus may rejoin again later
The EU-funded Cross-border Cooperation Programme Poland-Belarus-Ukraine has informed that it will continue its cross-border cooperation in the bilateral format between Poland and Ukraine.
“The political situation in Belarus and Polish-Belarusian relations make it impossible to continue work on the trilateral programme. However, we want to make it possible for Polish and Ukrainian institutions to benefit from Interreg funds and implement joint projects as soon as possible,” said the representative of the Programme Managing Authority Jacek Żalek. He added that the programme wants to support the European perspective of Belarusian society, “so we do not exclude Belarus joining the Programme later on”.
A bilateral Programming Committee will also be established immediately.
