Polish dog shelter appeals for adoptions for animals fleeing the war in Ukraine
The Polish beneficiary of the EU-funded cross-border cooperation project ‘Rzeszów and Vynohradiv – animal-friendly cities’ (CBC4animals) is looking for new owners and support for shelter dogs fleeing the war in Ukraine.
The original aim of the project was to prevent stray animals from spreading infections by sterilising them, chipping them and immunising them. But since the war, this cross-border cooperation project has decided to partially redirect its activities.
In cooperation with their Ukrainian partner, the Vynohradiv Animal Shelter in Zakarpattya, the Animal Protection Organisation across the border in Rzeszów has now begun to transport the dogs from Ukraine to their shelter in Poland. Both shelters were renovated as part of the EU cross-border-cooperation project.
