Sweden donates €45 million to Ukraine Energy Support Fund

[post_audio_speech]

In response to Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, Sweden has contributed approximately €45 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund (UESF), managed by the Energy Community Secretariat.

The funding is facilitating the acquisition of gas turbines for electricity and heat production, helping Ukraine address its urgent energy needs during the conflict.

The Ukraine Energy Support Fund remains a vital channel for international support, enabling countries and organisations to assist Ukraine in restoring its energy infrastructure and secure reliable energy supplies during the war in Ukraine. It was established in 2022 by the Energy Community Secretariat (ECS), co-chaired by the European Commission. With the latest Swedish donation, total pledges to the Fund have reached €939 million.
