[post_audio_speech]

The largest emergency department in the north of Moldova has opened in the Balti Clinical Hospital after a major reconstruction including the provision of modern medical equipment.

Occupying an area of 2,000 m², the new department now offers a fast and efficient service and is equipped with advanced equipment: CT scan, ultrasound, operating theatres, and much more.

The investment in the modernisation totalled more than 60 million lei, of which the European Union financed about 2 million lei.

In the last two years, the Balti Clinical Hospital has received assistance of about 7 million lei from other EU projects, including ‘EU4Moldova: Building a sustainable health system’.

The Balti Clinical Hospital is to undergo a full-scale modernisation within the ‘Moldova Energy Efficiency Project’, for which the European Union, the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have allocated more than 9 million lei.
