Creative Europe training on safeguarding cultural heritage in crisis
The EU-funded ‘Creative Europe’ programme invites passionate mid-career professionals working to protect cultural heritage from the increasing threats of disasters, extreme weather events, and conflicts, to apply for a two-week training on disaster risk management.
The training will start at the end of May 2025 and will consist of both online and in-person sessions (in Latvia), followed by field projects in participants’ home countries, lasting six months.
This advanced training is part of the ‘READY – Safeguarding Cultural Heritage from Disasters, Extreme Weather Events, and Complex Emergencies’ project, funded by Creative Europe in partnership with the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM).
The training provides technical expertise and practical tools to equip professionals with interdisciplinary methods for safeguarding cultural heritage during crises, based on ICCROM’s First Aid and Resilience for Cultural Heritage in Times of Crisis (FAR) programme.
Participants must be from countries participating in the Creative Europe programme, including Armenia, Georgia, and Ukraine.
The deadline for applications is 20 April.
