EU4Energy Phase II celebrates achievements in Armenia with final conference in Yerevan
On 7 April in Yerevan, the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) held the Final Conference of the EU4Energy Phase II Programme, aimed at promoting the clean energy transition in the Eastern Partnership countries.
The event brought together key stakeholders from Armenia’s energy sector to reflect on the achievements and lessons learned from the EU4Energy project while exploring future opportunities, creating a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
Vassilis Maragos, the EU Ambassador to Armenia, said the European Union was committed to promoting energy security, advancing the clean energy transition, and enhancing regional cooperation.
“We are inspired to host the Final Conference of the EU4Energy Project Phase II here in Yerevan not only to reflect on the significant achievements of the project, but also to chart the course ahead as we continue our joint efforts towards a clean, secure, and sustainable energy future for Armenia and the Eastern Partnership region,” said Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission, Mesrop Mesropyan in his welcoming address.
The conference was organised in the framework of the EU4Energy Programme Phase II – Promoting the Clean Energy Transition in the Eastern Partnership Countries, which runs until 31 August 2025. The programme aims to contribute to the development of sound legislative and regulatory frameworks for energy, to support the region’s transition to clean energy and the liberalisation of its energy markets.
The EU4Energy initiative is funded by the European Union with a total budget of €8.5 million and is jointly implemented by CEER, the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Energy Community Secretariat (EnCS).
