European Solidarity Corps: environmental volunteering in Portugal
The non-governmental Portuguese organisation ‘X Mentality’ (Mentalidade X) invites volunteers, including from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine, to take part in a project aiming to create a community ecological garden, based on the principles of permaculture.
The volunteering will take place in Santarém, Portugal, between 19 May and 14 July 2025.
The volunteer will participate in gardening. This work will be carried out exclusively in the morning hours so that the volunteer has free time after lunch for cultural and personal activities.
The organisation is looking for volunteers who are between 18 and 30 years old, motivated to work as part of a team, proactive and flexible, prepared to develop socio-cultural, environmental and sporting activities and to develop their own activities, and have an interest or experience in environmental issues.
Volunteers will be accommodated in a renovated 500-year-old palace located in the historic center of Santarém. Travel, meals and health insurance will be covered by the organisation. The volunteer will also be given a weekly allowance.
