Guide for Scientists: Gender-Sensitive and Non-Discriminatory Teaching in STEAM

This guide is a practical tool for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) educators seeking to integrate gender-sensitive and non-discriminatory approaches into their teaching. It provides hands-on strategies for avoiding gender stereotypes in the classroom, promoting science to diverse audiences, delivering public lectures, creating video content, and using plain language to engage more effectively with students and the broader public.

The publication was developed within the framework of the “Ambassadors of Science” initiative, implemented by the youth centre Lviv Open Lab in partnership with UNFPA Ukraine and with funding from Sweden. Beyond its methodological value, the guide aims to support the emergence of a new generation of scientists—those committed to inclusive, barrier-free science that reflects the principles of equality and openness.

Year: 2023

The text of the publications is currently only available in Ukrainian.
