DOCvillage 2025: residency for documentary filmmakers residing in Ukraine
Documentary filmmakers residing in Ukraine are invited to apply for an intensive five-day residency in the Netherlands, where they will be able to refine their documentary film idea and gain the tools and confidence to bring it to life.
The residency, from 5-11 October, is offered by the EU-funded House of Europe programme, together with the CineSud film hub.
It will include interactive group sessions, practical exercises, and individual coaching, helping participants learn how to create compelling stories, develop effective research, conduct insightful interviews, and build a solid foundation for their documentaries by planning your budget, schedule, and logistics.
Participants will also have the chance to present their project and win €2,000 during the DOCDAYS Industry Day.
The residency is ideal for emerging documentary filmmakers in various stages of development, from a starting concept to working on a project already in development. Applicants must currently reside in Ukraine, and should have a good understanding of English.
All essential expenses (accommodation, meals, and round tickets) will be covered.
The deadline for applications is 10 June, 15.00 Kyiv time. Four participants will be selected.
