Women in Power and Decision-Making in Georgia

This issue brief provides a data-driven overview of the current status of women’s representation in decision-making positions across different levels of governance in Georgia. Drawing on the 2023 Country Gender Equality Profile and other key studies, the publication highlights persistent gender gaps in the national parliament, executive government, civil service, and local self-governance. Despite some progress, women remain significantly underrepresented in political and administrative leadership roles. The brief aims to inform policy and advocacy efforts to promote gender equality in public decision-making. The publication was developed under the UN Women project “Women’s Increased Leadership for Democracy in Georgia (WILD),” funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
