Human Rights Situation of the LGBTQI Communities in Georgia

This report prepared by the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia and supported by UN Joint Programme for Gender Equality (UNJP4GE), provides a comprehensive analysis of the human rights situation of LGBTQI persons in Georgia. It examines the key legal, institutional, and social challenges faced by LGBTQI individuals and evaluates the effectiveness of state policies and commitments related to equality and non-discrimination. The report identifies widespread barriers — including discrimination, violence, and lack of access to justice — and provides tailored recommendations to relevant governmental agencies to improve the protection of LGBTQI rights in Georgia.
