Volunteering opportunity at Waldorf school in Lithuania – open to Ukrainians
The Kaunas Waldorf School in Lithuania calls on young volunteers from Europe, including Ukraine, to apply for a long-term volunteering opportunity under the European Solidarity Corps, supporting children’s learning both in the classroom and during after-school activities.
The activity will run for almost a year from 15 September 2025 to 30 August 2026.
Tasks may include assisting teachers, helping children with special needs, and leading or co-leading creative, artistic, or movement-based sessions. This is a great chance to explore the Waldorf educational approach, develop experience in a supportive school environment, and contribute to a community that values holistic, child-centered learning. Volunteers will be guided by experienced staff and encouraged to bring their own ideas and talents into the process.
Volunteers will live in a shared apartment within walking distance of the school. A monthly food allowance will be provided.
Volunteers will take part in On-Arrival and Mid-Term Trainings organised by the National Agency, focusing on intercultural learning, project goals, and personal development. Additionally support organization will provide a Youth Leaders Training, covering topics such as group dynamics, lydership and other non formal skills. Volunteers will also participate in monthly reflection and support meetings, creating space to share experiences, receive guidance, and grow both personally and as part of a team.
The school is looking for a motivated, open-minded volunteer who enjoys working with children and is interested in alternative education, especially the Waldorf/Steiner approach. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is patient, empathetic, and willing to support both individual learners and groups, including children with special needs. An interest in creative activities, arts, music, or movement is a big plus, as well as a willingness to learn and take initiative. No formal teaching experience is required.
The deadline for applications is 15 September.
The volunteering is organised under the European Solidarity Corps, which creates opportunities for young people aged 18-30 to engage in solidarity activities abroad or in their country in projects that benefit communities.
