EU4Recovery strengthens youth councils across Ukraine
The European Union and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) announced that they wrapped up the second stage of ENABLE on 5 August – a programme designed to strengthen youth councils across Ukraine.
The second stage was done in the form of intensive training, aimed at helping participants rethink the role of youth councils in times of war and explore how they can become a driving force for local recovery.
This part of the programme was built around the real needs and requests submitted by the youth councils themselves, making it as relevant and practical as possible for today’s challenges.
In addition to theoretical foundations, ‘ENABLE’ focused on practical tools. Participants developed initiatives that they plan to implement in their communities following consultations with local authorities as another step towards enabling youth councils to act as effective advisory bodies and help their communities overcome war-related challenges.
The ‘ENABLE’ programme was implemented by UNDP in Ukraine as part of the flagship EU–UNDP partnership ‘EU4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine’, with co-funding from the Government of Denmark.
