EU4Business: SMEs in Eastern Partner countries generate extra €950.6 million in income and 27,313 new jobs

The EU-funded EU4Business initiative has published its Citizens’ Summary 2025 for the Eastern Partnership with an overview of the major results of the past year, in the region as a whole and by country.

In 2024, 80,146 SMEs were supported through the EU4Business Initiative in Eastern Partnership, generating an extra €950.6 million in income and 120,763 new jobs, growing their turnover by 10.6%, and increasing their exports by 9.8% as a result.

In Armenia, 11,853 SMEs were supported, generating an extra €232.1 million in income and 27,313 new jobs, growing their turnover by 17.2%, and increasing their exports by 7.2% as a result.

In Azerbaijan, EU4Business supported 7,038 SMEs, generating an extra €40.4 million in income and 10,167 new jobs, growing their turnover by 18.7%, and increasing their exports by 6.4% as a result.

In 2024, 40,801 SMEs were supported through the EU4Business Initiative in Georgia, generating an extra €261.4 million in income and 51,976 new jobs, growing their turnover by 12.6%, and increasing their exports by 12.6% as a result.

A total of 5,594 SMEs received EU support in Moldova, generating an extra €90.6 million in income and 12,975 new jobs, growing their turnover by 12.9%, and increasing their exports by 9.9% as a result.

In Ukraine, 14,860 SMEs were supported through the EU4Business Initiative, generating an extra €197.5 million in income and 13,234 new jobs, growing their turnover by 4.7%, and increasing their exports by 7.9% as a result.

The European Union’s EU4Business Initiative ultimately serves SMEs as the beneficiaries of EU support in the Eastern Partnership countries — Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine. The programme supports SMEs by improving access to finance, promoting better business regulations, upgrading services to business, and taking advantage of trade opportunities.
