EU Mission in Armenia hosts First Civil Society Talk in Goris

[post_audio_speech]

On 26 August, EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA) held its first Civil Society Talk in Goris to enhance dialogue and cooperation with local communities in the Syunik region.

The event brought together a diverse group of local civil society organisations (CSOs), community leaders, and EUMA Mission Members, creating a collaborative environment to foster mutual understanding and partnership.

The discussion provided participants with an opportunity to learn more about the Mission’s mandate and activities in Goris. It also offered a space for local civil society representatives to share their perspectives on the current human security situation in the area and spotlight the work that they do on gender and human rights.

“EUMA will continue to reinforce its efforts to engage civil society through its works and looks forward to organising similar dialogues in its other areas of operation,” the Mission said in a press release.

The EU Mission in Armenia (EUMA) was launched on 20 February 2023 and will be deployed until February 2027. EUMA observes and reports on the situation on the ground, contributing to human security in conflict-affected areas and supporting the confidence building between Armenia and Azerbaijan, where possible. EUMA is deployed on the Armenian side of the international border with Azerbaijan. Headquarters is located in Yeghegnadzor.
