EU announces new ambassadors to Azerbaijan and Moldova
Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, has announced the appointments of 36 new Heads of Delegation of the European Union, including to Azerbaijan and Moldova.
Marijana Kujundžić has been appointed as the EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan. She is currently serving as the Croatian Representative to the Political and Security Committee. She has formerly, among other functions, held the position of Relex Counsellor at the Permanent Representation of Croatia to the EU. Kujundžić was appointed after the former EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko recently completed four years of diplomatic service in Baku.
Iwona Piorko Bermig has been appointed as the EU Ambassador to Moldova. She is currently serving as EU Ambassador to Singapore. She earlier served as Head of Unit for International Affairs at the European Commission DG for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs. Piorko Bermig will replace Jānis Mažeiks who has been serving as the Ambassador to Moldova for the past four years.
