Ukraine: EU helps develop Communication Strategy for State Bureau of Investigations
On 8 September, the Ukrainian State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) thanked the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine for helping to develop the Bureau’s Communication Strategy.
The document defines the key principles and directions for the development of the SBI’s communication policy. It helps strengthen openness and accountability, promotes the use of modern digital tools to inform the public, and encourages the establishment of systematic interaction with the media and civil society organisations. It also sets modern standards for internal and external communications, which will help increase trust in the institution and strengthen its authority.
The strategy is also crucial for crisis situations, as it identifies target audiences, key messages, and mechanisms for rapid response in such situations. The new strategy also stresses the importance of the international communications of the Bureau, as well as developing internal communication within the organisation. It introduces modern formats of working with information – from social media to specialised educational projects.
“The implementation of the strategy is of great importance for the Bureau, as it allows communication to become more transparent, clear, and consistent,” stated the organisation’s press release. It added: “The State Bureau of Investigation expresses its gratitude to the EU Advisory Mission for its expert support and assistance in creating this important document.”
The EUAM also congratulated the State Bureau of Investigation on adopting the document and expressed confidence that “the strategy will strengthen the institution’s openness, foster greater public trust, and ensure effective communication with citizens, the media, and partners.”
