Frontline communities in Ukraine learn solutions for recovery with EU support
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine, together with the European Union, has organised a study visit for representatives of frontline communities from Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson oblasts to their counterparts in Poltava and Chernihiv oblasts.
The visit was designed to help frontline communities better navigate the challenges of war by acquiring the necessary experience to ensure more effective responses on the ground.
The participants of the study visit learned how to:
- support veterans and their families in reintegration,
- strengthen the ability to respond swiftly to crises and the impacts of war,
- foster local initiatives and drive recovery at the community level,
- ensure that residents are actively involved in decision-making.
Participants found the study visit useful and have already begun considering how to adapt their experiences to their own communities.
The visit was organised as part of the flagship ‘EU4Recovery – Empowering Communities in Ukraine’ partnership between UNDP in Ukraine and the European Union.
