EU4Recovery: EU and UNDP support sports competition for Ukrainian veterans in Chernihiv
At the end of September, around 300 Ukrainian veterans – men and women – took part in the national adaptive sports competition ‘Northern Outpost’ in Chernihiv, Ukraine. The event was supported by UNDP and the EU.
This competition was organised and conducted with the aim of strengthening socialisation and peer support among veterans, fostering a sense of unity and safety, and raising public awareness of veterans’ needs for proper conditions for physical and psychological rehabilitation.
The event was organised by the NGO ‘Veteran Community of Ukraine Sertsevir” as part of the flagship ‘EU4Recovery — Empowering Communities in Ukraine’ partnership between UNDP in Ukraine and the EU.
