‘Anti-Corruption Journalism in Action’ exhibition series completes its journey across Ukraine
This summer, an exhibition organised by the Media Development Foundation with the support of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI), travelled to Dnipro, Cherkasy, and Ivano-Frankivsk to bring local communities together in a dialogue about integrity, accountability, and the power of investigative journalism.
More than 700 people attended interactive installations, panel discussions, anti-corruption city tours, and screenings of the documentary Truth Is My Weapon about the work of investigative journalists. The film is available via the link.
Visitors explored ten real stories of regional investigations that have already brought notable changes to communities, from halting illegal construction to exposing schemes in the land, municipal, and defence sectors.
“Investigative journalism gives communities a voice and power to change the rules of the game,” EUACI says in a press release. “This project was a timely reminder of how many changes in local communities were sparked by independent media.”
The EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) is the European Union’s anti-corruption support programme in Ukraine funded by the EU, and co-funded and implemented by the Danish Foreign Ministry. The programme was launched in 2017 as a collaborative effort to combat corruption in Ukraine.
