Autumn Digital EU4Energy Week for EaP universities 2024 – Empowering Eastern Partnership university students with opportunities in the energy sector
On 8-10 October, the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER), on behalf of the European Commission’s EU4Energy Programme – ‘Promoting the Clean Energy Transition in the Eastern Partnership Countries’, conducted its fourth edition of the Autumn Digital EU4Energy Week for Eastern Partnership (EaP) Universities.
The event was designed to support future energy professionals in the EaP region by providing them with hands-on knowledge and experience from European and international energy experts.
This year, the Autumn Digital EU4Energy University Week brought together students from EaP universities with backgrounds in energy, law, environment, and economics to focus on the crucial topics for the EU and the EaP region such as transitioning to more sustainable heating and enhancing energy efficiency.
Participating students had the opportunity to learn from EU experts about policies and regulations, technological advancements, and best practices in these areas. At the end of the sessions, participants took an online quiz, with the best-performing student being awarded a prize and invited to attend an event, organised by CEER within the EU4Energy programme.
The Autumn Digital EU4Energy University Week is organised under the EU4Energy Programme Phase II, which aims to support the development of legislative and regulatory frameworks for clean energy and the liberalisation of energy markets in the Eastern Partnership countries. This programme, funded by the European Union with a budget of €8.5 million, is implemented by the Council of European Energy Regulators, the International Energy Agency, and the Energy Community Secretariat.
