Council of European Energy Regulators conducts training for media ensuring accurate and informed reporting
On 10-11 March, the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) conducted a media seminar, as part of the European Union’s EU4Energy programme to promote the clean energy transition in the Eastern Partnership countries.
This seminar was specifically designed for journalists covering energy-related topics in the Republic of Armenia and will support the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia (PSRC) in enhancing its communication with the media.
The intensive seminar equipped participants with a thorough understanding of the role of media in informing the public and fostering transparency in energy policies. Journalists gained essential knowledge and skills to accurately report on energy regulatory issues, engaging with local and international experts to explore the key challenges that Armenia’s energy sector is facing.
Over 30 participants from various media organisations delved into crucial aspects of energy regulation, including market operation, tariff setting, and service quality, while also examining best practices from the EU.
The ‘EU4Energy Programme Phase II – Promoting the Clean Energy Transition in the Eastern Partnership Countries’ runs until 31 August 2025. The programme aims to contribute to the development of sound legislative and regulatory frameworks for energy, to support the region’s transition to clean energy and the liberalisation of its energy markets.
CEER will organise another training in cooperation with the Energy Community Secretariat (EnCS) from 12 to 13 March. The two-day regional training on consumer protection and empowerment in Brussels (Belgium) will bring together energy sector representatives from the Eastern Partnership countries.
The EU4Energy initiative is funded by the European Union with a total budget of €8.5 million and is jointly implemented by CEER, the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Energy Community Secretariat (EnCS).
