EU and IOM provide laptops to Moldovan specialists protecting victims of violence
The European Union and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) have provided the ten territorial agencies of social assistance in Chisinau and Gagauzia in Moldova with 51 laptops worth almost 1 million lei.
The equipment will be used by specialists in the field of preventing and combating domestic violence and rehabilitating victims, including refugees and third-country nationals. A national network of such specialists was first established in the Republic of Moldova in 2024.
Thanks to the laptops, the specialists will now be able to register a case online on the spot.
The equipment was provided as part of the ‘Strengthening the national capacity of Moldova to provide quality protection, education, health services and socio-economic opportunities for Ukrainian refugees’ project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Previously, the project conducted trainings aimed at building the capacity of professionals and practitioners at the territorial level on the phenomenon of domestic violence, specific international and national norms, intervention tools, methods of effective communication, and identification of victims of crime and their rights.
