The national ‘EU & My Grandparents’ contest has announced three winning teams of grandparents and grandchildren from Moldova.

Each team won a trip to a city in Europe:

  • ‘Moștenitorii Europei’ from Sîngerei – a trip to Paris.
  • ‘EuroFetele din sat’ from Brînza, Cahul – a trip to Athens.
  • ‘EU4Family’ from Zăicana, Criuleni – a trip to Prague.

The ‘EU & My Grandparents’ contest took place from 19 to 21 August in three Moldovan regions: north (Răuțel, Fălești district), south (Văleni, Cahul district) and centre (Stăuceni town). The event brought together dozens of teams, each consisting of two grandparents and two grandchildren. The participants demonstrated their knowledge of Europe’s history and culture, creativity, and team spirit.

This was the first edition of the ‘EU & My Grandparents’ contest. It was organised by the Bureau for European Integration, in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Culture, the Association of Intellectual Games of Moldova and the National Youth Agency, with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, the Embassies of France, Greece and the Czech Republic in the Republic of Moldova, and UNFPA Moldova.
