EU-supported SMEs in Eastern Partner countries generate extra €795 million in income and 79,931 new jobs

The EU-funded EU4Business initiative has published its Citizens’ Summary 2024 for the Eastern Partnership with an overview of the major results of the past year, in the region as a whole and by country.

In 2023, 67,264 SMEs were supported through the EU4Business Initiative in the Eastern Partnership, generating an extra €795 million in income and 79,931 new jobs, growing their turnover by 10.7%, and increasing their exports by 2.6% as a result.

In Armenia, 6,116 SMEs were supported, generating an extra €237.5 million in income and 18,294 new jobs, growing their turnover by 28.3%, and increasing their exports by 6.8% as a result.

In Azerbaijan, EU4Business supported 1,999 SMEs, generating an extra €31.3 million in income and 1,067 new jobs, growing their turnover by 23.8%, and increasing their exports by 6% as a result.

In 2023, 39,072 SMEs were supported through the EU4Business Initiative in Georgia, generating an extra €203.9 million in income and 36,973 new jobs, growing their turnover by 12.8%, and increasing their exports by 6.8% as a result.

A total of 2,870 SMEs received EU support in Moldova, generating an extra €124.9 million in income and 10,363 new jobs, growing their turnover by 17.1%, and increasing their exports by 11.4% as a result.

Over 17,200 Ukrainian SMEs were supported through the EU4Business Initiative, generating an extra €197.5 million in income and 13,234 new jobs, growing their turnover by 4.7%, and increasing their exports by 7.9% as a result.
