EU4Moldova Local Communities: women entrepreneurs receive financial support
Thirteen women entrepreneurs from the Edineț, Strășeni and Leova regions received financial support during a special Award Ceremony held under the EU4Moldova: Local Communities programme.
The selected beneficiaries received financial support of up to €2,000 per project, awarded through an open competition designed to strengthen and expand women-led businesses. The aim of this initiative is to enhance local economic opportunities, build entrepreneurial skills and initiative for diversifying the rural economy.
The supported projects span a wide range of sectors, including agriculture digitalisation, rural tourism, beekeeping, local food processing and promotion, beauty and wellness services, catering, creative design, woodworking, metal crafting, and more.
“The entrepreneurs we are supporting today are driving change in their communities by introducing new ideas, live and energy, creating jobs, services, social and cultural activities – overall ‚rolling up the sleeves, not only for themselves but for building a better future,” said Ilona Gruenewald, Programme Manager at the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova.
The financial support programme was a follow-up to a series of capacity-development sessions that took place earlier this year. During this, over 60 women from Edineț, Strășeni and Leova participated in a training programme aimed at strengthening their business skills in access to business funding and financial supports, accounting and taxation, and marketing and promotion strategies.
