EU4Youth: youth from Eastern Partnership visit EU Institutions in Brussels to advocate for greater engagement
The regional Network of National Youth Councils Moldova, Ukraine and Armenia, in cooperation with the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project and the Danish Youth Council, organised a study visit to Brussels from 6 to 10 October, Belgium, bringing together 17 young representatives from across the Eastern Partnership countries.
The delegation included members of the National Youth Councils of Moldova, Ukraine, and Belarus, the Youth Organisations Union of Armenia, the National Ukrainian Youth Association (NUMO), and youth civil society representatives from Georgia and Azerbaijan. During the visit, participants met with various EU institutions and actively advocated for stronger youth engagement at both national and regional levels.
Throughout the week, the group held meetings with representatives of the European External Action Service (EEAS), the European Commission’s Directorates-General for Enlargement and Eastern Neighborhood (DG ENEST) and Education, Youth, Sport and Culture (DG EAC), the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), and the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum. Youth delegates highlighted the importance of increasing youth participation within the Eastern Partnership and across the EU, while also establishing valuable connections for future cooperation.
As part of the visit, participants took an active role in the EU4Youth Days on 8 and 9 October, contributing to panel discussions and workshops, where they shared their perspectives, experiences, and ideas on strengthening youth participation and regional collaboration.
The ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project is financed by the European Union and German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
