EU4Youth: Zelenskyi addresses three-day Youth Forum to mark International Youth Day in Kyiv
On August 10-12, a Youth Forum took place, marking International Youth Day, organised by the Youth Affairs Council under the President of Ukraine in close cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, and supported by national and international partners, including the ‘EU4Youth IV: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project.
The forum brought together nearly 300 young people and featured a robust agenda with the participation of key national and international figures, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, who delivered an inspiring speech and engaged in a Q&A session with young participants. Other prominent speakers included Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine, and Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine, both of whom emphasised the importance of youth involvement in shaping Ukraine’s future.
Over the course of the forum, participants had the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities, including an ‘Opportunities Fair’ from partners, and panel discussions on the future of youth policy in Ukraine and Europe. This was followed by interactive workshops, including a workshop on grant applications writing, conducted by the EU4Youth IV project, and group discussions aimed at developing recommendations for the “Youth of Ukraine” programme for 2026-2030. Overall, the forum was a resounding success, underscoring the critical role of young people in shaping effective youth policies in Ukraine.
