European Heritage Days 2025: Armenia on the list

[post_audio_speech]

On 27-28 September, the European Heritage Days once again open their doors to visitors all over Europe, including in Armenia.

The theme for European Heritage Days 2025 is ‘Heritage and Architecture: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future’, which is focusing on the design, meanings and conservation of the built environment. It also marks the 50th anniversary of the ‘European Architectural Heritage Year’ of 1975, which was pivotal in recognising architectural heritage as a key factor in the quality of life and preservation efforts across Europe.

Armenia is among the countries participating in the event this year. Among the many events planned: a lecture in four languages on the relationship between European cultural heritage and Armenian architectural monuments at the House-Museum of Avetik Isahakian, and a guided tour to explore the architectural features of the Yerevan Cascade complex.

The European Heritage Days is a joint initiative of the Council of Europe and the European Commission since 1999. Held in September each year, the European Heritage Days take place in the countries that are party to the European Cultural Convention. During this time, doors are opened to numerous monuments and sites, allowing Europe’s citizens to enjoy free visits and learn about their shared cultural heritage.
