The fourth meeting of the European Political Community brought together leaders from across the continent at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, in the United Kingdom.

Forty-three heads of state and government took part in this fourth meeting of the European Political Community, including from the 24 EU member states and Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The EU was represented by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.

The leaders reaffirmed their continued support for Ukraine and discussed the topics of energy and connectivity, security and democracy, and migration.

“Today’s powerful discussions show the unique value of this European Political Community. Our resolve to support Ukraine is stronger than ever — we clearly reaffirmed that with President Zelenskyy,” Charles Michel wrote on X.

On the margins of the meeting, Charles Michel, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk met with President of Moldova Maia Sandu. They discussed how to strengthen cooperation with Moldova to support the country towards “a secure and prosperous future”, the European Council said in a press release.

The next European Political Community meetings will take place in Hungary on 7 November 2024 and in Albania in 2025.
