Mayors for Economic Growth: Cimișlia purchases two new minibuses and builds a bus stop
With the support of the Mayors for Economic Growth (M4EG) initiative, the administration of the Moldovan town of Cimișlia has purchased two new minibuses and built a bus stop.
The initiative is funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). For the minibuses and the construction of the bus stop, the EU has allocated €77,000 through UNDP. From its side, the municipality has contributed €18,000.

The buses and the stop will make the life of all residents, including refugees and low-income people, more comfortable.
According to a press release by UNDP Moldova, Cimișlia currently hosts 78 refugees from Ukraine, among them elderly people, children, and people with chronic diseases.
“It is therefore important for them to have public transport to ensure their mobility and facilitate access to work and basic services such as healthcare,” UNDP says.
