The Internal Protection and Anti-Corruption Service (IPAS) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moldova has received two state-of-the-art drones worth over 430,000 MDL, the EU Delegation to Moldova announced on 1 September. The donation was made as part of the EU-funded project ‘EU4Moldova Resilience – Secure State, Resilient Communities’.

The two new drones have high-resolution cameras, thermal sensors, and extended flight autonomy. Those drones can be used for complex aerial surveillance, documentation, and rapid intervention missions, including at night or in challenging conditions.

In the medium and long term, integrating drones will significantly increase operational efficiency, enabling faster and more successful investigations, particularly in cases requiring extensive surveillance or detailed visual documentation,” said Dorin Vrednic, Head of IPAS.

Nicolae Soloviov, Project Manager of the EU4Moldova Resilience programme added: “These drones will support the Internal Protection and Anti-Corruption Service in monitoring hard-to-access areas, documenting illegal activities, and in actions to prevent and combat corruption and other threats to internal security.

The ‘EU4Moldova Resilience – Secure State, Resilient Communities’ project, funded by the European Union and implemented by Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova, aims to strengthen the resilience of the Republic of Moldova in the face of security challenges and to support local communities in building a safer future. By November 2025, Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova is expected to provide more than 1,750 protective and rapid intervention equipment items to the institutions responsible for civil protection and national security under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
