Support for local entrepreneurship: 26.3 million lei in grants for 75 companies in Moldova

The Government of the Republic of Moldova, together with the European Union, through the Organisation for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA) under the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalisation, has awarded 26.3 million lei (€1.34 million) in grants to 75 local companies. The award ceremony was held on 13 March.

The total investment generated by these grants in the economy amounts to over 51.3 million lei.

The grants are distributed through various programmes managed by the ODA. Through the Digital Transformation Programme for Small and Medium Enterprises, 46 companies will receive grants totaling 12.3 million lei, with estimated investments of 20.7 million lei in the national economy. These funds will be used for the acquisition and implementation of digital technologies.

Under the Women Entrepreneurship Support Programme, 16 companies will benefit from grants totaling 5.7 million lei. The implementation of these investment projects is expected to generate a total investment of 12 million lei in the economy. The funded initiatives focus on business development in sectors such as milling, bakery and pastry production, healthcare, and education.

Through the Small and Medium Enterprises Retooling and Energy Efficiency Programme, eight companies from various industries will receive grants totaling 5.8 million lei. These funds will support investments estimated at 13.6 million lei, contributing to the modernisation and efficiency of production processes.

Additionally, five companies will develop their businesses through the ‘PARE 1+2’ Remittances Attraction Programme, benefiting from non-reimbursable financial support totaling 2.4 million lei. This funding will generate nearly 5 million lei in economic investments.

Of the 75 companies receiving grants, 65 are funded by the Government of the Republic of Moldova with 23 million lei, while 10 companies receive financial support from the European Union, totaling 3.3 million lei.
