A total of 89 Moldova companies have received grants totaling 28.5 million lei (around €1.5 million).

The support comes from the Government of the Republic of Moldova, which is providing 18 million lei to 47 companies. The European Union is supporting another 40 companies with 9.5 million lei, and two companies are backed by the World Bank Group with almost 866,000 lei. All these grants are provided through various programmes managed by the Organisation for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA).

The funds will be used for the purchase of high-performance equipment, process digitalisation, and consultancy services. This financial support translates into more competitive businesses, better-paid jobs, and greater opportunities for citizens across the country.

Currently, these companies employ 674 people. With the help of the grants, at least 400 new jobs will be created.

“The European Union will undoubtedly continue to support SMEs, as they are a key driving force in strengthening Moldova’s economy and an essential pillar of the recently approved Growth Plan for Moldova,” said Máté Csicsai, Chargé d’affaires ad interim of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova.

Since the beginning of the year, 220 companies have received grants through ODA, totalling 97 million lei. This financial support will generate investments of over 189 million lei in Moldova’s economy.
