Ten fire stations in Moldova to be renovated with EU support

[post_audio_speech]

Ten territorial and volunteer fire stations across the Republic of Moldova will be renovated thanks to European Union financial support, the EU Delegation to Moldova announced on 11 April.

As part of the ‘EU4Moldova Resilience – Secure State, Resilient Communities’ project, each selected locality will receive up to 418,000 MDL (around €21,000) in funding, contributing to the modernisation of emergency infrastructure and the improvement of working conditions for firefighting teams.

The selected localities are: Mereni (Anenii Noi), Sireti (Straseni), Larga (Briceni), Scoreni (Straseni), Razeni (Ialoveni), Suhuluceni (Telenesti), Carpineni (Hincesti), Tomai (UTA Gagauzia), Lalova (Rezina), and Geamana (Anenii Noi).

Renovation works will include repairing ceilings and floors, upgrading ventilation and insulation systems, and modernising sanitary and rest areas.

In addition, 35 fire stations will be equipped with modern intervention tools and advanced communication systems. Training conditions, rapid response capabilities, and operational coordination will all be significantly improved.

Renovation works are scheduled for completion by September 2025.

The ‘EU4Moldova Resilience – Secure State, Resilient Communities’ project, funded by the European Union and implemented by Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova, aims to strengthen the resilience of the Republic of Moldova in the face of security challenges and to support local communities in building a safer future.
