Training programme on EU accession for Ukrainian public officials launched in Natolin
The College of Europe in Natolin has announced the launch of the Tailored Onsite Knowledge and Analytical Skills Programme, a specialised training course on EU accession for Ukrainian public officials, welcoming the first group of nine participants last week.
The programme is part of the EU-funded initiative, ‘Natolin4Capacity Building Phase II – Strengthening Ukrainian Public Administration for EU Integration’. It aims to support Ukraine’s European aspirations by equipping public officials with the knowledge necessary to manage the EU accession process and implement key reforms.
The first group will focus on studying the fundamentals of European integration, social policy, and external relations. Participants represent a wide range of Ukrainian state bodies such as the Ministry of Justice and the National Police of Ukraine.
The first three groups of 26 Ukrainian officials have already been selected to participate in the programme. Due to the high number of qualified applicants, the originally planned two training groups were expanded to three.
In total, 100 selected Ukrainian public officials will participate in the six-week training course delivered by EU experts, including practitioners with first-hand experience in membership negotiations. The project, which runs until January 2027, will deliver the programme to 12 groups of 8-9 participants each, who are selected through an open competition.
The next open call and information on upcoming topics will be announced in July-August 2025. If you are interested in receiving information about upcoming trainings, please sign up here.
The programme combines theoretical and practical elements tailored to the needs of Ukrainian negotiating teams, delivered by EU member state experts with direct experience in the negotiation process. The practical component of the programme includes research training, developing an analytical paper under expert mentorship and field visits to deepen contextual understanding.
