European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos has welcomed today’s vote in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, saying that it “corrected last week’s damaging vote undermining NABU’s and SAPO’s independence”

“Today’s law restores key safeguards, but challenges remain,” Marta Kos posted on X. “The EU supports Ukrainian citizens’ demands for reform. Upholding fundamental values and fighting corruption must remain the priority.”

European Union Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Mathernova also welcomed the vote in the Rada.

“Important step for re-establishing trust with the society and international partners,” she wrote on X.
