Young European Ambassadors and EU Delegation to Azerbaijan conduct EU Green Future Competition 2025
On 31 January 2025, the Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) in cooperation with the Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan, conducted the fourth edition of the European Youth Competition in Baku – ‘EU Green Future’. It was implemented as part of the EU-funded ‘For Our Planet’ campaign.
The competition brought together emerging talents ranging from high school to university students from across Azerbaijan. The contest focused on presenting innovative business solutions to address sustainable development challenges, fostering teamwork, and building business-oriented thinking and commitment to sustainable development.
In his welcome speech, EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko congratulated all the teams for their “hard work and brilliant ideas”: “As a global frontrunner on renewable energy and green policies, the EU is dedicated to supporting the ideas of Azerbaijani youth. We are excited to learn from young people today, and discover their valuable solutions for real life sustainability challenges that surround us. It is clear to me that the innovation within these teams gives us great hope for the future of Azerbaijan and the planet.”
A total of 128 teams, representing 512 individuals from Agdash, Baku, Ismayilli, Khankendi, Shamkir and Lankaran, participated in the EU Green Future Competition. Four teams, each consisting of four participants, were selected to take part in the final competition.
As a result, the ‘Times New Roman’ team was awarded first place in the competition, followed by the ‘Green Innovators’ team in second place. The ‘Sustainable Synergy’ team took third place and the ‘Voyage’ team took fourth place. The EU Ambassador awarded all the finalists of the competition with certificates and various gifts.
