Youth for a healthy and democratic society: second edition of YEA Magazine launched today
The second edition of the Young European Ambassadors (YEA) Magazine was launched today to coincide with the Council of Europe’s Democracy Here Democracy Now! campaign and its Youth Action Week.
This latest edition aims to bring different perspectives on the European Union and the Eastern Partnership, travelling across the continent to investigate the impact young people are having on their societies, and how they see the future.
This is the European Year of Youth, and with this issue, the magazine aims to make a statement: young people and their rights and needs are at the heart of society, they need to be at the centre of decision-making and to have the space they deserve. Meaningful youth participation is essential to a healthy and democratic society.
The YEAs initiative is a voluntary network connecting young people from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and the EU Member States and the United Kingdom. The aim of the network is to raise awareness about the EU’s cooperation with its Eastern partner countries, showcase the tangible results of this cooperation, contribute to policy dialogue on various topics, help increase civic activism and work together for a better future.
