Follow-up assessment gender norms and stereotypes in the EU’s Eastern Partnership countries

The Follow-up assessment evaluates progress in overcoming harmful gender norms and stereotypes, and fostering gender-transformative behavior among people and communities involved in the “EU 4 Gender Equality: Together Against Gender Stereotypes and Gender-Based Violence” initiatives. It aims to measure the impact of these initiatives and identify the drivers and barriers to changes in social norms at both individual and community levels.

Using both quantitative and qualitative research methods, the assessment is fully aligned with the Baseline Study conducted in 2020. The assessment covered seven key beneficiary groups: local advocates and CSOs, fathers attending Fathers’ Schools, youth, health-care professionals, perpetrators of domestic violence, members of faith-based organizations, and women in STEM fields. The report highlights the transformative progress made, as well as the ongoing barriers, in shifting traditional gender norms and promoting equality across the Eastern Partnership countries.

This publication is produced in the framework of the “EU 4 Gender Equality: Together against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence” programme (phase 2), funded by the European Union, implemented jointly by UN Women and UNFPA. This publication was produced with the financial support of the European Union.
