Opportunity in Adversity: Fast-tracking reform of the Moldovan electricity and natural gas sectors

A new book by Aura Sabadus, energy and cross-commodity expert at ICIS, London, chronicles how Moldova overcame an existential crisis triggered by Russia’s abrupt gas supply cuts in October 2021. 

The book was commissioned by the Energy Community and based on over 40 firsthand accounts from Moldovan and international stakeholders. It offers an analysis of how Moldova turned to its Energy Community commitments, accelerated market liberalisation, and forged stronger partnerships with regional and European allies – thereby laying the groundwork for long-term energy security and integration with EU energy markets.
