Decolonisation workshop for Ukrainian cultural activists

Activists and artists working in Ukraine or abroad are encouraged to join an eight-day cultural workshop taking place on Zoom from 30 June to 10 July. This workshop involves attending lectures and making projects on decolonisation and its effects.

The deadline for applications is 16 June 2025 at 15:00 Kyiv time.

The workshop will involve curating an idea of a decolonisation project and the opportunity to receive up to €500 in funding to bring the project to life. Also, the lab includes 15+ hours of hands-on lectures on the Ukrainian and global dimensions of decolonisation from specialists in the field, and 30+ hours of face-to-face communication with trainers.

Participants will be introduced to the politics and practices of decolonisation by learning about the history of colonisation, its impact on the development of nations, and the cultural tools of resistance. The lab will benefit cultural managers, artists, activists, and national minorities representatives working in Ukraine or abroad.

The lab is carried out by Goethe-Institut Ukraine and is part of the EU-funded House of Europe programme.
