European Solidarity Corps: volunteering in Italy open to Belarusians and Ukrainians
The Congregation of Buon Pastore, based in Genoa, Italy, invites volunteers to join its activities in two residential centres hosting and taking care of young girls and helping them in their independence and self-fulfillment.
Volunteers, including those from Belarus and Ukraine, will be able to spend 30 weeks in Genoa, during the period from 1 February to 31 August 2023.
Volunteers will meet the girls after school, eat lunch together, help with their homework, accompany them to sports or other activities after school, prepare staff activities in the summer or free time and participate in outdoor activities and trips.
The girls often come from complex family situations, and the volunteer needs to possess such qualities as high tolerance, patience, firmness, creativity, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The volunteer will live in Genoa in a shared flat with double/triple rooms. He/she will receive €5 per day for out-of-pocket expenses and meals or a meal allowance will be provided. Travel costs will be reimbursed on a basis determined by the European Commission.
The deadline for applications is 29 January.
