Join the Industry-Academia Network of the Cybersecurity Skills Academy: call open to Moldova and Ukraine
On 15 September, the European Commission opened a new call to higher education institutions, vocational education and training providers, European universities, alliances and industry to join the Industry-Academia Network of the Cybersecurity Skills Academy.
This new initiative is the EU’s response to the continuously increasing gap between the existing cybersecurity workforce and the cybersecurity workforce needed to adequately secure organisations.
The aim of the Industry-Academia Network is to build concrete collaborations and set up partnerships amongst its members from industry and academia to expand educational opportunities for potential cybersecurity experts.
Members of the Network can partner to:
- give access to students to state-of-the-art trainings and certifications;
- design and update cybersecurity curricula and training offers;
- provide on-the-job cybersecurity courses;
- open up apprenticeships, internships and traineeship opportunities;
- elaborate mentorship programmes;
- develop cybersecurity learning micro-credentials;
- organise targeted career fairs.
Organisations from Moldova and Ukraine are eligible to apply for participation in the Network, as it is open to entities established in Participating Countries to Specific Objective 4 of the Digital Europe Programme.
The Cybersecurity Skills Academy, launched on 18 April 2023, aims at addressing the growing cybersecurity skills and talent shortage in Europe. The Academy called on European organisations to make free-of-charge commitments to bridge the cybersecurity talent gap in the EU and to skill the EU cybersecurity workforce, becoming pledgers of the Cybersecurity Skills Academy.
The application process is continuous, with no specific deadline.
