Moldovan edition of EU4Culture network festival to take place in Cahul on 28 September
The festival ‘City Stories, Diverse Voices – Illuminate. Amplify’ will celebrate the positive impact of the EU4Culture project on culture and creativity in the Republic of Moldova. Taking place in Cahul on 28 September, the festival will showcase achievements in cultural strategy development as well as innovative projects and mobility initiatives across Moldova.
Through artist talks, performances and collaborative projects, the festival will highlight cultural exchange and the digitalisation of creativity, showcasing the work of artists from Moldova and other Eastern Partnership countries.
The festival will be organised in four clusters involving EU4Culture beneficiaries from related fields:
Professional cluster: panel discussions with cultural and creative industry sector professionals (high-ranking officials, representatives from the municipality, and national projects) and EU4Culture beneficiaries sharing experiences, and insights and discussing new opportunities for developing local cultural and creative sectors.
Visual/Video/Animation Artists Cluster: video projection mapping that transforms the Bogdan Petriceicu Hajdeu State University facade into an animated artwork canvas by local and international artists.
Digital Poetry Cluster: an immersive exhibition bringing poetry into the digital dimension and combining music, visual arts and design in innovative formats.
Music Artists Cluster: concert with light shows and laser projections at the Palace of Culture, enhancing the festival’s immersive experience.
All festival events are public and free of charge.
With a budget of €7.85 million, EU4Culture is a four-year project funded by the European Union to support the culture and creative sector with a particular focus on non-capital cities and towns in the Eastern Partnership Countries. The project is implemented by Goethe-Institut (Lead), Czech Centers, Danish Cultural Institute, and Institut Français de Géorgie.
In Moldova, Cahul received a grant to implement its Cultural Development Strategy, while Orhei prepared its own strategy and implemented targeted actions with EU4Culture support.
