Register now for 2024 EaP Civic Tech Hackathon
Civic tech enthusiasts are invited to apply for the third Civic Tech Hackathon to be held on 26-28 January 2024 in the Moldovan capital Chisinau, organised by the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Facility. The hackathon is set to welcome 50 civil society activists, developers and designers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.
After two successful online editions, the hackathon returns for an in-person experience where you can meet your colleagues and work on your ideas face to face.
Participants will work on new digital solutions focused on empowering citizens and improving public services in the Eastern Partnership countries. Areas include e-participation, e-transparency, open data, citizen mobilisation, citizen-to-citizen services, civil society transparency & accountability, and much more.
Up to 25 activists who applied with an idea, either individuals or teams of up to three people, will also be invited to a Tech Ideathon between 1-16 December 2023 to refine their ideas, 15 of which will be selected to participate in the Hackathon.
The best ideas during the Hackathon will be nominated for the EaP Civic Tech Award – a €10-12,000 facility allowing the winners to further develop and implement their tech solutions.
Registration is available here.
The deadline for individuals or teams with civic tech solutions is before 13 November. The deadline for developers and web or graphic designers interested in helping the teams is before 18 December.
For more information on the Hackathon and the application process, the organisers are hosting an Information Webinar on 31 October at 1pm CET.
A guideline for applicants is also available.
