Supporting Security and Resilience in the Republic of Moldova

Project Description
This EU-funded project aims at supporting Moldovan authorities in responding to hybrid threats and the impacts of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine on the region. Implemented in close cooperation with the German Federal Foreign Office through their Stabilisation Platform, the project enhances the operational capacity of law enforcement agencies to uphold public order, respond to emergency situations, and investigate financial and crypto-crime, as well as hostile foreign interference. In particular, the project supports the General Police Inspectorate of Moldova and subordinate units with concrete material support and specialized technical training.
Specific Objective
The objective of the action is to strengthen the capacity of Moldovan authorities to:
• respond to hybrid threats and emergency situations
• conduct complex conventional and digital investigations
• uphold public order and protect human rights
Expected Results
• Strengthened operational capacity of the Moldovan police to uphold public order and respond to emergency situations through the provision of equipment
• Enhanced capabilities of the Moldovan police to investigate financial and crypto-crime, as well as hostile foreign interference through the provision of specialized software and technical training
• Improved safety, transparency and training systems for police officers through the provision of IT equipment and body cameras
