This project seeks to continue to promote Council of Europe and international standards in the field of strengthening justice, as well as to build the capacity of state authorities, legal and law enforcement professionals, civil society, etc., to adapt domestic legislation framework in line with international standards, and to apply those standards to improve protection of human rights and rule of law.
This project is implemented within the third Phase of the joint programme of the European Union and the Council of Europe “Partnership for Good Governance”. It builds on the results of the previous phases of the Partnership for Good Governance in the field of strengthening justice (Phase I 2015-2018 and Phase II 2019-2023).

The project aims to contribute to improved protection of human rights and rule of law by enhancing evidence based judicial system in Georgia.

► Independence, transparency, accountability of the judicial system and impartiality of judges is promoted;
► Coherent and evidence-based criminal justice policy achieved by compliance of criminal legislation with international and European human rights standards;
► ECHR national implementation is improved, including by increasing the effectiveness of the courts and knowledge of judges in line with the case law of the ECtHR.
