
Sustainable Energy for climate resilient municipal development in Armenia

The Sustainable Energy for Climate Resilient Municipal Development in Armenia (SE4Resilience) project is co-financed by the European Union and German Government, and implemented by GIZ from May 2024 to April 2027, with a total budget of €12.3 million.
The project supports rural communities in Tavush, Shirak, Gegharkunik, and Syunik by promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency in households and public buildings. Its goal is to strengthen climate resilience, reduce energy poverty, and improve energy security, while contributing to climate change mitigation and the preservation of natural resources in Armenia.

Obiectivul specific
The overall objective of the project is to alleviate energy poverty, increase energy security and independence, contribute to climate change mitigation and the preservation of natural resources and ecosystem services in Armenia.
Rezultatele așteptate
1. Improvement of the national regulatory and technical framework for the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency in rural municipalities.
2. Strengthened capacities of rural municipalities to pilot integrated renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions in public infrastructure.
3. Increased implementation of measures in the field of renewable energies and energy efficiency in rural households and businesses.
4. The use of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures in rural municipalities is supported by gender-sensitive competence development measures.
