This project seeks to continue to promote Council of Europe and international standards in the field of violence against women and domestic violence, as well as to build the capacity of state authorities, legal and law enforcement professionals, civil society, etc., to adapt domestic frameworks in line with international standards, and to apply those standards to prevent and combat violence against women and domestic violence.
This project is implemented within the third Phase of the joint programme of the European Union and the Council of Europe “Partnership for Good Governance”. It builds on the results of the previous phases of the Partnership for Good Governance in the field of advancing women’s access to justice and combating violence against women (Phase I 2015-2018 and Phase II 2019-2023).

The project aims at increasing awareness of the public on issues related to the violence against women and domestic violence in the country. This can be achieved by:
1. Building the capacity of legal professionals, law enforcement officials, and law students to deal with cases of violence against women and domestic violence.
2. Reinforcing the legal framework related to violence against women and domestic violence
3. Improving the cooperation between institutions in addressing the violence against women and domestic violence cases.

1. Knowledge is generated on international standards on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence.
2. Professionals are given the tools and knowledge to effectively support victims in a way that is consistent with international standards.
3. National actors take action to make legislative and policy changes to better align domestic frameworks on gender equality, violence against women and domestic violence with the international standards.
4. Multi-agency cooperation on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence is promoted.
